18 Weeks Pregnant and Feeling In-between

18 Weeks Pregnant and Feeling In-between

I'm very excited to announce I'm pregnant with my first child! At 18 weeks pregnant, I'm feeling in-between stage where I'm not quite 'showing' but people may think I have put on weight (you all know what I am talking about). I can not zip up my normal jeans and I'm trying to hide my belly till I actually look pregnant! I'm lucky that having designed for Soon Maternity for nearly 3 years, I've met a lot of pregnant ladies going through the same stage as I am now. The one advise I have is to invest in essential pieces that will grow with you till the end of your pregnancy. I've put together three outfits that have lately become my go to looks.

Blazer: I love blazers! It's the perfect throw on piece that dresses up any outfit. I've been wearing the Classic drape blazer a lot lately, I love how the front simply drapes over my belly and still have a polished tailored look to it.

Tee: I LOVE the fabric and the loose fit of the Swing Jersey Tank. It's just a super comfortable basic that I'll definitely wear till the end of my pregnancy.

Pants: I wanted pants that can be dressed up or down. Like a dressier version of the boyfriend jeans and the Gwyneth Pants fit the brief. The stretch waistband makes it easy for me to sit down all day in comfort while I work and the ties at the hem is a dressy feature that looks great with boots. You can't go wrong with a soft chambray pant for Summer.

Knit Top: One of the benefits of being Soon's designer and pregnant is that I get to test run a lot of the samples! Once again I'm sticking to loose fitted tops like this "Angel front pleat knit" batwing top. It's been knitted with a lightweight cotton that's the perfect weight for the winter to spring transeasonal weather. This gorgeous light weight knit will be available from the last week of September, available in light grey and black.

Pants: If you like wearing loose or oversized slouchy tops, balance it out with fitted skinny pants. The Audrey capri pants have been a best seller for the last few seasons and with good reason - SO COMFY! I wore these even before my pregnancy. With the tailored skinny fit and crop length these are one of the most flattering pants. You can't even tell these are pregnancy pants! I'm not surprised that many of our customers still buy the Audrey capri even though they aren't pregnant anymore. I love the vibrant cobalt blue, it's just the perfect pop of colour against the neutral grey and black.

Dress: Every girl needs the perfect little black dress and I feel so glamorous in this Celina dress. I think the side ruching helps to hide my belly without loosing that fitted look. I especially love the hem and how it looks on the side.

Cardigan: I love how the summer cardi feels on my skin, it's made from a beautiful fabric. I designed this drape cardi knowing there's a lot of women conscious of their arms (including myself!). It's a very lightweight fabric so it's perfect throw on piece for summer. Loving the drape!
