We recently saw a sneak peek of channel 10's Offspring season 4 and we can't wait to see Nina Proudman's pregnancy style. Played by the logie gold winner, actress Asher Keddie, Nina's distinctive modern chic style now has a strong following with women all over Australia.
We have chosen some of our favourite outfits from the past Offspring season's to show you how you can translate her casual chic style for your pregnancy.
Going for a bright colour will lift your mood. Anchor bright colour with neutral coloured pieces. In this case the bright coral red of Nina's top is offset by black legging pant. What we love is the urban detailing on the pant creating a fashion focused modern look. Try pairing a flowing coral top such as the Jess Gathered Cap with a cool urban look stretch skinny pant such as the Eva Ponti Pant. Love the colour but want to keep it simple? Go for a bright coloured basic tee such as the one pictured in Melon Red.
As a doctor, Nina has the freedom to wear what she likes at work. If like her you have a more relaxed workplace, then go for outfits that allow you to go from work to dinner. If you love your skinny maternity jeans then balance your look with an elongated flowing blouse. Invest in pieces like the Uma Shirt, a style that is flattering on any body shape that can be worn post pregnancy. Add a beautiful silk scarf to complete your look.
Have a special occasion and looking for the perfect evening style? Embrace your baby bump with a stretch jersey maternity fitted dress like Soon's Celina Tank Dress. Even though the silhouette is fitted, the gathered ruching on the sides makes it very hard to tell what are fabric folds and what are little lumps you may not want to show. Not ready to show off all your curves? You can use the same principles by pairing a free flowing black top with a fitted black ruched skirt.
If there's one thing that Nina's character has taught us is that what looks best is confidence! It you love something and makes you feel happy then you'll wear it with confidence.
Good luck!
